GLOBAL COMPETENCE
gcdomains.png

The Asia Society divides Global Competence into four pillars:

1. Investigate the World

2. Recognize Perspectives

3. Communicate Ideas

4. Take Action

Globally competent students think critically to objectively evaluate diverse perspectives and communicate effectively with varied audiences, fostering meaningful dialogue that drives positive change.

One of the most effective ways to develop global competence is through the SAGE model, which empowers students with choice to engage in authentic, meaningful experiences. These experiences connect to globally significant issues and involve addressing real audiences, deepening relevance and impact.

According to the United Nations, The  Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), "adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests."
